Your pet's first vet visit - how to prepare

MultiVet Lutynia · Veterinary advice

Vet greeting a cat - first visit to the clinic, MultiVet Lutynia

A good first visit sets the tone for a lifetime of veterinary care - for your pet and for you. A little preparation makes it calmer and far more useful.

What to bring

Bring any existing records and the health booklet (if the animal has one), information about where the pet came from, and - if asked - a fresh stool sample. A short list of questions and observations helps too: what worries you, since when, and any changes in behaviour, appetite or thirst. Note down what you feed and which parasite products you use.

Reducing your pet's stress

What to expect

The first visit usually includes a detailed history and clinical examination, an assessment of weight and condition, a conversation about vaccinations, worming and feeding, and a plan for future preventive care. For puppies we focus on growth and socialisation; with kittens we take a particularly gentle, quiet approach.

How often to come back

Healthy adult pets benefit from a yearly check-up; puppies and kittens follow the vaccination schedule, and seniors do best with reviews every six to twelve months. You are welcome at the MultiVet clinic in Lutynia near Wrocław - see our services or get in touch to book.

Dose timing for young dogs is set out in the puppy vaccination schedule.

Kittens follow a separate plan - see the kitten vaccination schedule.

Routine worming and parasite protection matters even more in rural areas.

From spring to late autumn the real risk is ticks and tick-borne disease.
